April 26-May 2, 2009

From April 26- May 2, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week will be observed across the nation by victims, survivors, and the professionals and volunteers who assist them. This year’s theme is “25 Years of Rebuilding Lives. Celebrating the Victims of Crime Act.”
This year's theme is "25 Years of Rebuilding Lives: Celebrating the Victims of Crime Act." It also marks the 25th anniversary of the federal Victims of Crime Act, which was enacted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. This historic step forward for victims established the Crime Victims' Fund to support local victim programs across the nation. California can look back on a legacy of leadership in victims' rights and services that has been an inspiration for other states and the federal government.
VCGCB staff will participate in a march on April 29th, from 400 R Street in Sacramento to a ceremony at the State Capitol. Please join us in this march for victims' rights or stop by our booth. Victim compensation materials will be available at the event.
